ICCAL Team
The ICCAL team at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law (Heidelberg, Germany) coordinates the research, events, and communication of the project. The team combines academic leadership with organizational, technical, and communication expertise to connect Latin America with global debates on transformative constitutionalism.
Armin von Bogdandy
Director of the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law. Professor of Public Law at the University of Frankfurt/Main, pioneer of the ius constitutionale commune and a leading scholar in comparative and international constitutional law.
Mariela Morales Antoniazzi
Senior Researcher at the Max Planck Institute. Specialist in Latin American constitutional law, the Inter-American Human Rights System, and transformative constitutionalism. General academic coordinator of ICCAL since its inception.
Carolina Bejarano Martínez
Academic coordinator of ICCAL LAB. Doctor of Law from the University of the Andes. Her research focuses on environmental justice, socio-territorial conflicts, and human rights in a comparative perspective.
Thalia Viveros Uehara
Investigadora en el Instituto Max Planck. Su trabajo se centra en cambio climático, medio ambiente, salud y derechos humanos, con énfasis en el Sistema Interamericano y el Sur Global.
Vanessa Vanegas
Researcher at the Max Planck Institute. Her work focuses on comparative constitutional law, particularly on mechanisms of constitutional reconstruction and democratic resilience in post-authoritarian contexts in Latin America.
Martina Marcacuzco
Assistant in science communication for ICCAL. Coordinates website development, outreach, and multilingual communication for the project.
Juri Berger
Administrative assistant for the ICCAL team and the ICCAL Lab. He studied International and European Law in Groningen and Barcelona and completed an LL.M. in International Humanitarian Law and International Human Rights Law in Geneva.
