Key members

The ICCAL team at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law (Heidelberg, Germany) coordinates the research, events, and communication of the project. The team combines academic leadership with organizational, technical, and communication expertise to connect Latin America with global debates on transformative constitutionalism.

Armin von Bogdandy

Director of the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law. Professor of Public Law at the University of Frankfurt/Main, pioneer of the ius constitutionale commune and a leading scholar in comparative and international constitutional law.

Mariela Morales Antoniazzi

Senior Researcher at the Max Planck Institute. Specialist in Latin American constitutional law, the Inter-American Human Rights System, and transformative constitutionalism. General academic coordinator of ICCAL since its inception.

Carolina Bejarano Martínez

Academic coordinator of ICCAL. Doctor of Law from the University of the Andes. Her research focuses on environmental justice, socio-territorial conflicts, and human rights in a comparative perspective.

Erik Tuchtfeld

Research fellow at the Max Planck Institute. His work addresses comparative constitutional law, democratic resilience, and rule of law challenges in Europe and Latin America.

Mareike Ronellenfitsch

Research fellow at the Max Planck Institute. Works on public law, communication, and constitutional theory with a focus on transregional perspectives.

Martina Marcacuzco

Assistant in science communication for ICCAL. Coordinates website development, outreach, and multilingual communication for the project.
